Palm Sunday - The Name

Blessed is the Person, who comes in the name of the Lord.

What does it mean to come in the name of the Lord?

For us it is "putting on Christ." Like Paul says in his letters ... so many ways and so many times ... we become Christ and Christ lives in us.  Our name is Christ's name.

Judas and Peter are truly living in the Name of Christ. Before the betrayal and the denial, Judas and Peter lived in their own name. Their name was who they were. As the silver was thrown and the tears came, Judas and Peter were transformed. They are called by Jesus' Name ... a Name given by the Divine.

We are Judas and Peter, we sell ourselves short and we deny who we are. If we truly "put on Christ" and live our life at the cutting edge of our union with Christ, we will abide in Love. Our name will be Love. We are called to Love ... for Love and by Love.

It is only when we love with our "well trained tongue"; have ears to hear; open our faces without shielding them, and do not turn back that we proceed to Jerusalem.

It is only when we come to our true humanity and we are obedient to death on my cross that we are baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ. We then become a person who lives in the same attitude of Jesus Christ and who empties ourselves for others.

The only way we will be transformed is by knowing that Jesus loves us first. Jesus gives us our name which is His. Jesus invites us to go to Jerusalem.  Jesus goes to Jerusalem with us and tells us the time to go.

Jesus lived His Passion in time -- 2000 years ago. Now, He lives His Passion in us, today. Jesus is transforming us from Judas and Peter to Love; therefore, we can lay down our lives for our friends.
